Many second-hand things can cost a lot less, while still being as good as new.

Take books as an example. A book from a bookstore, especially a hardcover, can cost a crazy amount of money. It won’t have that crisp feeling the books from stores have, of course, but hey, you’re buying it for its contents, aren’t you? And what about furniture? It is never cheap.
