When it comes to slimming down, leading an active and healthy lifestyle, and no indulging in those sweets that cause weight gain, a lot of us have trouble.
This is because weight loss requires a lot of commitment, so much so that it has to become a complete lifestyle change.
Unfortunately, not all of us are good with changing up our lifestyles and end up falling back into old habits which cause the weight gain to re-appear.
With this said, there are a few unusual ways you can incorporate into your life to help with the weight loss process, whether that through eating less or revving up your metabolism.
1. Consider drinking some olive oil.
When you consume 1-2 tablespoons of extra-light olive oil between your meals, not only does it help curb your appetite but it will lower something called your set point.
This set point is the weight at which your body wants to naturally set itself at.
2. Choose to eat some sweets while you are cooking your meals.
Do so with hard candies though so that it takes you some time to get through them.
Choose to lick, sips, and nibble at them, so that once you are ready to eat your meal, you will feel like you’ve already eaten.
The best candies to do this with are ones that incorporate mint, sours, or cinnamon as these keep your taste buds focused on the candy.
3. Put a nose clip on your nose during your meals.
Smell plays a massive role in how we taste our food and if you can’t smell it, you’re unlikely to be able to taste it very well.
When you clip your nose shut, you will only eat until you are full, causing you to consume less and lose weight.
4. Choose to eat off of blue plates or sit in a blue painted room during meal time.
The color blue works like an appetite suppressant, which is why you never see any restaurants decorated in blue.
Not only does blue light make food look less appealing, but eating on blue plates, tablecloths, and placemats, encourages you to eat less.
5. Choose to sit across from a mirror when eating.
When you have to look back at yourself eating, not only does it remind you of why you are trying to lose weight but it keeps your focus in check.
You can do a similar trick by photographing your food before you eat it as a visual account of your food makes you stop and think about what you are eating.
Other than the above, choose to add a little bit of spice to your recipes, eat a high protein meal in the morning, and consider putting on a lightly scented vanilla candle before dinner or while you are cooking to encourage yourself to consume less.
Sometimes, when you don’t want to exercise or truly make some drastic changes, little hacks like the ones above can help you get to the weight loss goals you want.
