Nasal bleeding or epistaxis is a fairly common problem. It can be seen in childhood, in adults, and usually in small children it can be seen in injuries caused by nose picking. Even a small injury can cause excessive bleding. In adults can be seen where there are infections, trauma blood thinners hypertension is one of the major cause, where there is rupture of the blood vessel. You can pinch the nostril between the thumb and forefinger to arrest the bleeding. Sit with the head held forwards to reduce the bleeding.
