This Is How To Start Eating Healthy (Will Change Your Life)
Let me guess, you’ve lost count of the times you promised to yourself to eat healthier.
You probably can only count on your fingers the times you’ve stuck with your healthy eating routine.
For many of us, eating healthy is an ever-changing process that will most likely last for the rest of our lives.
If you’re very used to unhealthy eating habits, then turning over a new leaf can be a real Herculean feat to take.
Well, that may be true, but the most important thing here is to make an effort, rather than thinking, “Meh, I won’t do it coz I won’t be able to stick with it anyway.”
There’s still time and that time starts today.
These tips are easy like eating whole foods instead of processed (which we will be discussing more so watch on).
1. Ditching processed foods and going for whole foods
Get rid of your instant noodles and frozen pizza then swap them with whole foods like fruits, veggies, and whole grains.
Whole foods are way more healthy as they’re rich in essential nutrients as opposed to processed foods that only contain empty calories.
2. Ciao, sugary drinks!
Sugary beverages are linked to various health hazards like liver damage, diabetes, anxiety, and even premature aging.
Instead of buying packaged juice or soda, why not go for infused water or unsweetened drinks?
3. Nuts and seeds all the way
Nuts may be small in size but they’re brimming with nutrients like protein, vitamins, healthy fats, and minerals.
Seeds like pumpkin seeds and chia are also nutritional powerhouses, with high levels of vitamins, antioxidants, and minerals.
4. Eating more fish
Heart doctors recommend eating fish, specifically fatty fish such as mackerel and salmon, at least 2x a week.
They are rich in omega-3 fatty acids that help improve brain and heart health.
5. Every day is a 3-meal day
Never skip a meal, not even breakfast.
Otherwise, your blood sugar will drop and your cortisol will surge.
When this happens, there are higher chances of experiencing weight gain and hormonal imbalances.
So, make sure you’re eating three balanced meals every day.
6. Utilizing your smaller plates
Are you used to eating with large plates, which in turn, large portions? Try eating on smaller plates starting today.
Doing so will make you feel full quicker and prevent overeating.
7. Staying hydrated and active
Don’t stay idle and drink tons of water before a large meal.
Aim for water half of your body weight in ounces every day.
Ideally, try drinking most water before noon.
And of course, get some exercises done along the way.
Even a short 10 minutes a day, if you’re too busy, can already help.
Eating healthy is more than just changing grocery shopping and cooking.
It’s a much bigger scale, and this time, it involves your lifestyle and habits.
Follow those tips we’ve talked about and you’ll be amazed by how much it’ll change your life for the better.
