In order to master the material world, we must be organized and perceptive. An altar is a sacred space where we can exercise creative action, self-discipline and intuition.

Follow this guided ritual to bless your altar at home. Find a table or any surface that is not being used.

You will need:

– A chalice or cup
– A wand
– A pentacle
– An athame or knife
– A white candle
– An altar cloth (optional)
– And a lighter or matches

You can follow this ritual even if you don’t have all these tools. Your chalice can be a wine glass that you will keep only for ritual purposes. The wand can be an item that is sacred to you, such as a pen if you’re a writer, a paintbrush if you love to paint, the branch of a tree, or even a drumstick. If you don’t have a pentacle, draw your own or print out this page and cut it out.
