BACON BRUSSELS SPROUTS RECIPE | With Almonds & Nutmeg

Make this bacon Brussels Sprouts with almonds and nutmeg recipe side dish for your next casual dinner or as a beautiful accompanying dish for your Thanksgiving. Brussels sprouts can be made delicious by adding bacon, toasted almonds, and some nutmeg essential oil. I made these Brussels sprouts with Bacon recipe for our Thanksgiving dinner. For a week night, just serve over steamed rice and you have an easy meal.

BACON BRUSSELS SPROUTS RECIPE With Almonds & Nutmeg
-8oz Slivered Almonds
-16 oz Brussels Sprouts, cut in half long ways
-1 tsp salted butter
-4 pieces of bacon, chopped
-1 TB Olive Oil
-2-3 tsps, Shallot Compound Butter, Recipe
-2 drops Nutmeg Vitality Essential Oil, Link Below
-2 drops Black Pepper Vitality Essential Oil, Link Below
-Salt to Taste

In a skillet over medium heat, toast almonds. Watch carefully. Transfer to cool plate.

Bring large pot of water to boil. Generously salt water. Make a bowl of ice water, have it ready before you add Brussels sprouts to boiling water. Once water is rapidly boiling, add Brussels sprouts. Set 3 minutes on timer. Once 3 minutes is sounding, remove Brussels sprouts and place in ice water. Let sit for a minute to cool. Then Remove from water and dry.

In large skillet, add 1 tsp of salted butter, fry up bacon pieces.
Use paper towel to remove excess rendered fat.
Move bacon to one side of pan.
Add a TB of Olive oil.
Add Brussels sprouts cut side down. Don’t move, let these get a good sear.
Add 1 TB of shallot compound butter. Let cook down and sizzle. Stir skillet. Watch for good color on Brussels sprouts.
Add toasted almonds.
Salt to taste. Turn off heat.
Add essential oils.
Toss and pile onto serving dish.
