DIY Embroidered Clay Ornament | How To Transfer an Image onto Polymer Clay & Add a Blanket Stitch

This DIY tutorial shows you how to make a hanging sugar skull ornament using image transfer and embroidery techniques.
First, we’ll condition and roll out the clay, before transferring a laser printed picture onto the clay, cutting it out, baking it, and then adding a decorative blanket stitch border to finish.

Easy enough for a polymer clay beginner to make, and it looks great when finished! You could use any image you want to, including Christmas or Halloween images.

The skull image I used can be found here:

But you can find your own images by searching for creative commons/royalty free/copyright free images and free clipart.
