DIY Mini SOFA ! | How to Make a Miniature UPHOLSTERED Couch | 1:12 Scale Modern Furniture Project

This tutorial shows you step-by-step how to make your own tiny comfy sofa using readily available items. And if you don’t like my design, you could easily create your own – maybe even a replica of the one you have at home!

This is a fun way to learn the basics of mini upholstery, and the DIY even includes a demo of ‘tufting’, which creates that classic dimple effect on the cushions.

The main structure is made from foam board (although you could use stiff cardboard instead), and around the outside is polyester batting for the padding, plus a woven purple fabric. Most of it is glued together, but there is some hand sewing as well to make it more durable.

The 1:12 scale of the sofa makes it ideal for adding to your modern dollhouse, and I even add a couple of stuffed throw pillows for decoration too 🙂
