Drumstick and potato sambar for beginners | How to make potato drumstick sambar recipe

Ingredients needed

Toor dal – 1 cup
Cumin seeds & Pepper – ½ tsp
Garlic – 4
Onion – 3
Tomato – 2
Red chili – 2
Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
Sambar powder – ¾ tsp
Red chili powder – ¼ tsp
Salt as required
Oil – 3 tsp (Gingelly oil i prefer)
Mustard – 1/2 tsp
Curry & Coriander leaves – few

Preparation

Wash the toor dal and add in pressure cooker. Add cumin seeds & pepper, turmeric, tomato, onion, garlic and salt to taste. Let is sit for 3 whistles.

Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, when it splutters, add onion, green chili. Once the onion turned brown add veggies. (Drumstick and Potato) You can add any vegetables you like.

Once the pressure down add dal in the pan, cook for 5 mins add sambar powder, red chili powder, and salt as needed.

Finally, add coriander and curry leaves while the pan in low flame. Keep it in low flame until veggies cooked. Add hing and turn off and serve hot.
