In today’s crochet tutorial I will show you how to crochet this easy Crochet Baby Hat, crochet baby cap, Crochet hat for girls and boys from 3-6 months. These crochet baby beanie hat, or crochet baby cap is made using the star stitch and is part of a crochet set for girls. The link for the crochet baby girl coat or sweater and pants is above.

For this Easy Star Stitch Crochet Baby Beanie Hat, Crochet Star Stitch Hat for boys and girls for 3-6M I used baby yarn by James C Brett in light pink. You can also use any DK weight yarn and If you’re in the US you can use any #3 baby yarn. I used a 3.5mm crochet hook. I used about 42 grams of baby yarn including the pom pom and flower.

If you’d like to make this star stitch crochet baby beanie hat or crochet cap, smaller or bigger, simply use a bigger or smaller hook with DK or #3 baby yarn. Just remember that different yarn weight and hook size will determine the final size. See below.

Newborn use 2.5mm hook for waist and pants with #3 or DK
0-3M use 3mm hook for waist and pants with #3 or DK yarn
3-6M I use 3.5mm hook for waist and pants with #3 or DK yarn (what I made)
6-9M used 4mm hook for waist and pants with #3 or DK yarn
9-12M use 4.5mm hook for waist and pants with #3 or DK yarn
