Hand Sewing Lesson: Blanket Stitch | How to Sew a Hem & Corners & Scallop Edge

Learn how to sew the blanket stitch by hand! This is my quicker tutorial version, and I’ve also included extra tips as well as instructions on how to stitch over a hem, and how to create graded/scalloped edging.

The blanket stitch is a great technique to use to add a decorative detail around the edge of your projects. You’ll particularly find this stitch displayed on the blankets and ornaments, and mostly used with non-fraying fabrics such as felt and fleece.
