How to Knit: GERMAN SLIP STITCH SELVEDGES | Easy NEAT EDGES in Your Knitting | Finishing Technique

This easy method creates a neat & attractive ‘chain stitch’ appearance on the side edges (the selvedges) of your flat knitting projects.

It’s a 2-row pattern repeat and involves only the 1st and last stitch of every row. Very simple to knit, even for beginners.

In this video I am demonstrating the slip stitch selvedges on both garter stitch and stockinette stitch so you can compare the edge finishes a lot easier. You can add these selvedges to all kind of patterns though, not just these.

The eagle-eyed amongst you may see that I’ve done this video before, but this is a (hopefully!) much-improved update/re-do.

I hope you find it useful!
