1. Cast on 34 stiches (sts) on two double pointed knitting needles.
2. Divide the stitches to 4 needles.
3. Knit all stitches for 5 rounds.
4. Begin a new pattern – 1st round – knit 1, purl 1 to end
2nd round – skip 1, purl 1 to end
Repeat the 2 rounds for 15 rounds.
5. Knit the pattern for 15 rounds
1, 3, 5, 7, and 9 (odd) rounds – all stitches knit to end
2nd round -k2, [k2, p3] x 2, knit to end
4th round – k2, p1, [k2, p3] x 2, knit to end
6th round – k2, p2, [k2, p3] x 2, knit to end
8th round – k2, [p3, k2] x 2, p2, knit to end
10th round – k3, [p3, k2] x 2, p1, knit to end
Repeat the 10 rounds.
6. Slide 5 stitches on a pin and pick up additional 5 sts. Keep knitting as usual for 16 rounds.
7. Begin working on a pointer finger — leave 10 stitches or 5 sts on each of two needles and slip other sts on a long safety pin or needle. Pick up additional 3 sts. Knit all the 13 sts for 20 rounds. K2tog or k3tog to end. Cut, secure, and hide the end of the yarn.
8. Slide back 4 sts on each of the two needles and pick up additional 6 sts for a middle finger. Knit all 14 stitches for 22 rounds. Finish – k2tog or k3tog to end. Cut and secure the tail of the yarn.
9. Slide back 4 sts on each of the two needles and pick up additional 4 sts for a ring finger. Knit all 12 sts for 20 rounds. Finish – k2tog or k3tog to end. Cut, secure, and hide the tail of the yarn.
10. Work with remaining 8 sts and pick up additional 3 sts for a pinky (little) finger. Knit all the 11 stitches for 16 rounds. Finish – k2tog or k3tog to end. Cut and secure the end of the yarn.
11. Slide back 5 stitches on a needle and pick up additional 9 sts for the thumb finger. Knit all the stitches for 18 rounds. Finish – k2tog or k3tog to end. Cut and secure the tail of the yarn.
