The Blind Hem Stitch is excellent for sewing hems in clothing because it is almost invisible from the front of the fabric.

Even though you can do this stitch on the sewing machine, people often do it by hand instead because the stitching can be more easily controlled and this often leads to an even more ‘invisible’ result.
