If Someone Throws Eggs At Your Car, Don’t Pull Over!

Roadside robbers constantly invent new tricks to distract your attention to attack you, your car, and other belongings. To stay alert and protect yourself from car theft, remember these scam schemes that are often used by car thieves.

There’s one type of crime that has evoked a lot of controversies and heated discussions on the Internet.
There appeared messages warning people that in particular countries such as Lebanon or India eggs may be thrown at windshields of their cars so that they have to pull over because of the obscured vision. They say eggs mixed with water will get milky blocking your vision for as much as 92 percent. In this case, you will have to halt at the side of the road and that’s exactly what robbers expect from you. They wait for this moment to attack.
That’s true that when two eggs were thrown at the windshield, they did create some mess. What differed from the warning messages was that after just several seconds, the egg residue was cleaned from the screen by the wipers. But even before that, the mess wasn’t enough to block the vision. In addition, those who tested the theory were surprised with the figures: they believed that “92 percent” mentioned in the warnings were too precise and didn’t reflect the real situation. That’s still not clear if these warnings are based on a real case or somebody just wants to make drivers more cautious on the roads.
Anyway, to protect yourself from becoming a victim of roadside robbers or a car-theft, stay always alert. Remember: better safe than sorry. If you have any doubts and suspicions about anything or anybody you encounter while you’re driving, don’t try to deal with the situation on your own. Inform the police. Pay attention to where you park. Better choose a well-lit place with people walking around. Try to avoid being obscured by big vehicles, foliage, or tall fences. Lock the doors and completely close the windows of your car as well as sunroofs even if you leave it just for a couple of minutes to buy a chewing gum in the nearest store.

SUMMARY
-There appeared messages warning people that in particular countries such as Lebanon or India eggs may be thrown at windshields of their cars so that they have to pull over because of the obscured vision.
-After just several seconds, the egg residue was cleaned from the screen by the wipers. But even before that, the mess wasn’t enough to block the vision.
-Unlike the “egg-throwing” trap the existence of which has no definite proofs, some schemes that criminals use are confirmed and widely used.
-You should know that a traffic warden or a police officer won’t ever place any notices on your car’s rear window.
-If you are driving within the speed limits and haven’t done any illegal actions, you have the right not to stop if you suspect that the car that is trying to pull you over is (NOT) a real police car.
-If you notice someone lying on the ground, the best option is to call the police and inform them about the situation without leaving your car.
-Lock the doors and completely close the windows of your car as well as sunroofs even if you leave it just for a couple of minutes to buy a chewing gum in the nearest store. Pay attention to where you park. Keep your belongings away from prying eyes.
