Chest pain can happen due to various reasons. The most common reason why they come to us is because is anxiety. They are anxious that they probably have a heart disease when they develop some pain in the chest, when you find that the pain is a sharp, sudden stabbing pain, sometimes in one area, sometimes in another area, and it keeps moving , then very often it is an anxiety related chest pain. If the pain is persisting in one particular patient, you have to see what are the organs that are affecting the patient and you can identify what are the reason for the particular chest pain. the pain that you get just below the sternum or in are due to gastric related issues or a cardiac issue but in a cardiac issue , you get extreme nausea ,vomiting or extreme sweating, or one is extremely anxious also but the death like anxiety is what is explained and also that extreme profuse perspiration , little lack of breath and that kind of pain that suddenly comes and devastates the patient as a kind of pain that happens in cardiac problems. Whereas a pain that I keep on shifting from point to point, the feeling of pressure in the chest, a feeling of heaviness can be related with anxiety. For this we need to know the personality of the patient . Type A personality, Type B personality. For example there are people who are very systematic, very meticulous, very organized, punctual, very orderly. They take a lot of stress on which occasion. For example they have a target to achieve. They become very stressed for that. These are Type A personality. They are the anxious people who may develop the anxiety related chest pain, this is how we can differentiate if it is some anxiety related to some other type of chest pain.
