Japanese Omelette Tamagoyaki Recipe

Easy and quick Japanese Omelette Recipe that has a really unique taste with a dense spongy texture and a delicious subtle sweet and salty note. This rolled omelette is so versatile because you can either make it plain or with finely chopped vegetables (shallots, mushrooms, spinach, carrots , bell peppers …), cheese, meat, etc.
To make Dashimaki Tamago, add 1 to 2 Tbsp of Dashi (Japanese stock) to the egg mixture.
People in Japan eat Tamagoyaki in the morning and it’s commonly used in bento (lunch box). It’s usually served with rice, Miso soup, Shiso leaf, grated Daikon radish…Tamagoyaki is traditionally cooked in a rectangular pan (Makiyakinabe) but a square or a round pan will work too.
