Origami Gatefold Box Instructions – DIY Tutorial – Paper Kawaii

Here are the instructions to make a cool origami gatefold box with a lock on the top. This box is much easier than the modular version ♥

I think this origami box is pretty cool, I tried and tried to make one which stayed shut (the modular version does), but it just won’t, perhaps with thick paper. So I made a little square which slots onto the top and keeps it locked.

Y O U – W I L L – N E E D ▶

The box:
1 sheet of square paper.
Mine is 20 x 20 cm.

The Lock:
1 square sheet of paper-
To get the size, divide your larger paper by 1.4
(Mine would be 14.2 cm)

If you start with 15 x 15 cm for the box, your smaller paper for the lock will need to be 10.7 cm
