Patod or pitod is a traditional Rajasthani dish that is made as a snack or eaten as a side dish with your meal during Paryushan. Obviously, many people run out of ideas about what to cook during the Paryushan week because Jains avoid eating potatoes, onions, and garlic. Considering that, ‘PATOD’ is an amazing dish which can be enjoyed during this holy period of Paryushan.

Ingredients:
(Serves 2)
– 1 cup Gram Flour
– 3 cups Water
– 1/4 tsp Turmeric Powder
– Salt
Ingredients for tempering:
– 2 tsp Oil
– 1 tsp Mustard Seeds
– 1 tsp Cumin Seeds
– 2 tbsp Sesame seeds
– 1/4 tsp Asafoetida
– 2 tbsp Fennel Seeds Powder
– 1 tsp coriander & cumin Seeds Powder
– 1/2 tsp Red Chilli Powder
– 2 tbsp Peanuts(coarsely ground)
