To grow Spinach (Palak) you just need a shallow pot with a mixture of garden soil, generic compost make sure that the pot has good drainage and that you water twice a day. Another thing which you can also put is ground nut cakes (generally used as fodder for horse and cow). If you can get ground nut cakes then soak it in water for one full day and mix it in the soil (either from the above or while preparing the pot) this ground nut cakes will do wonders to your Spinach plant.
