SAGE AND SHALLOT COMPOUND BUTTER | Quick and Easy

Compound butter has to be the easiest way to add flavor and elevate anything that uses butter. I like this one in particular because I keep it in my fridge and add it to quick dishes, it already has chopped shallot in it so one less step when I’m cooking week night meals. Plus sage and shallot compound butter can keep in the fridge for as long as you keep butter. It doesn’t even need a recipe you can be as adventurous or as simple as you want. All you are doing is combining flavors into your softened butter. Here is what I did for this specific compound butter. I use this in the Bacon Brussels Sprouts and Almond recipe.

SAGE AND SHALLOT COMPOUND BUTTER RECIPE

1 cup Softened, Room Temp, Salted Butter (2 sticks)
1/2 shallot finely diced
4 drops Sage Vitality Essential Oil (Oil Link Below)

Key is butter needs to be soft, not melted, but room temp, so leave it out over night or for at least 4 hours and it will be easy to press and mix.
Mince your half shallot. Add to butter. Combine. Then add 4 drops of sage vitality essential oil. You can also use fresh that you mince. I like the oil because I can have the flavor without my kids complaining about “green things” in their butter.
Once all mixed up you can add to bread, over steak and chicken, and any side dish you think sage and shallot would accompany well. Store covered in your refrigerator.
