Should one take dog bite vaccination after dog scratch with no visible blood? – Dr. Sanjay Panicker

As per WHO even if the dog nibbles and if there is even slight scratches and even the blood is not coming out the person should be vaccinated and then the dog should be observed for the next ten days to see if the dog is rabid and if so then the person should be treated till he is safe. So vaccination becomes important if the person s bitten by a rabid dog. There are medicines in homeopathy for this particular condition too and i have seen a case where he was into full-fledged tetanus and undergoing opisthotonus convulsions where he was having severe convulsions due to rabies, behaving eccentrically, responding wonderfully with hypericum and a medicine called as lysine. So there are excellent medicines in homeopathy in such conditions too. It is only a matter of identifying the right medicine and being able to treat the condition at the right time. But prevention is always better than cure. So be on the safer side and go for the vaccinations so that you will not develop any issues.
