In late teens what happens in breast is important.Normally due to the hormonal fluctutation and if there is abnormal hormone influence on breast this will lead to a lump in breast like how it presents in uterus. Due to growth, stress, infection there can be a condition called mastalgia which leads to pain in breast. If this painful condition continues the lobules and tissues clump together to cause Fibrocystic disease of breast. This type of mastalgia is associated with PCOD, obesity, weight gain.If there is pain and redness in the area condition is called mastitis. Mastitis is infection that happens in breast. normally breast ducts and lobules do not contain organisms , when they become sexually active this leads to breast abcess and mastalgia.
