What is Knitting? | Giant Knit & Purl Stitch Demonstration for Beginners

This video is a giant-size demonstration of how knit and purl stitches are formed in knitting. I found that understanding how knitting works helps me when I knit – because then I can better understand WHY I’m doing what I’m doing, rather than just following instructions blindly.

Knitting is basically just the creation of loops in yarn, and the appearance of the knitting depends on small differences in these loops and how they interconnect with each other. Hopefully this video will help to make the basic process of knitting clearer.
