All of us crave for a sleep especially during the day especially when we are tired or stressed out. The benefits of the side effects of taking a nap has been widely debated it is only the human beings who have trained themselves to function for long hours during the day. This would be ideal if we are not as sleep deprived as we see ourselves nowadays. We are seeing to of people who are not sleeping enough during the day and this is leading to accidents and loss of productivity, but also psychological symptoms such as depression and anxiety. In this context, a brief nap during the day is seen to improve one’s productivity. It is only during sleep that the memories get strengthened, the body gets enough rest so that the body can function physically to combat the challenges that one faces when on is awake. It is seen to improve memory, enhance creativity, boost physical energy, calm ones nerves, and make you feel cheerful and positive during the day if the small nap is taken. Now how long should that nap be taken? It should be for 10 minutes to 30 minutes. If you sleep more than an hour, it is very difficult to shake off that grogginess or inertia that you feel after you wake up from a deep sleep. If possible, take small sleep. If it is not possible, then relax your body for 10 minutes. Do a few mindful meditation exercises that would as effective as sleep and get back to your productive routine.
