Can one eye be higher than the other How to correct this? – Dr. Elankumaran P

Yes, even in a normal person, the two eyes are not placed in the same level, they are not of the same shape or size. There is a slight difference. In some cases, the difference is very obvious. Some of them can be corrected or not all. But remember nature takes care of itself, though it is placed at a different place, slightly up or down. Vision in this patients is not affected. However if the same happen after an accident, say later in life after if the position of the eye changes, there is usually doubling of the vision. So whatever the patient sees, he sees them as double. Whatever correction we do for a birth defect where there is a slight displacement of the eye is only cosmetic and in some cases it can be done. The best is to contact an eye doctor and get an opinion.
