Causes of clitoral infection could be vaginal infection, improper, diabetes causing yeast infection, heat burns, shaving, waxing, sensitivity to deo and perfumes, toilet papers, underwears, also tight clothing can cause sweating and infection. Sexual transmitted diseases like herpes, gonorrhoea, syphilis, trichomonas, scabies and pubic lice also can cause itching. Non infectious conditions like psoriasis, eczema and other skin conditions can also lead to itching. In elderly women due to menopause dryness can also lead to itching. How do we manage this? It depends upon the cause and accordingly it is done. If it is yeast infection anti fungals are given. If it is a sexually transmitted disease take treatment accordingly. If it is dry skin you can shift on to glycerine soaps, steroid creams. If it is due to menopause estrogen creams will help. Certain cases lubricants also will help to get rid off itching.
