undefinedCheek biting its one of our common practice among the people without even being conscious of being it. Cheek biting can be caused because of various reasons first of all how to recognize it,
you can stand in front of the mirror just pull the cheek out and you can see white line in the center of a chick, this is because of your chronic cheek biting habit. It can be caused because of various reasons, one of the most common reason is stress and anxiety. People who are stressed and anxious tend to byte their cheeks, in such people you need to make them aware of it and ask them to calm down and use a chewing gum instead of biting their cheeks. Malaligned teeth when the teeth are not in a straight line they are placed apart from each other and very close to the cheeks. Especially it is true when you have your wisdom tooth coming towards your cheek, lot of biting goes on over there. If it is a wisdom tooth which is not going to come in straight position you need to extract it and if it is other teeth you can go for orthodontic corrections. In case of sleep some people do it they have a habit of biting their cheek, in these people we can give something called night cards which is a plastic rim that can comes between their teeth, they can wear it and then sleep. Then there are some very difficult cases like obsessive-compulsive disorder where people continuously bite their cheek to get some gratification, these people they require psychological counselling for correction of this cheek biting.
