Cystoscopy is a procedure where an endoscope is inserted into the urinary bladder and part of the urinary tract or the prostate or the urinary balder. Why is Cystoscopy done? Cystoscopy is an investigation done when other investigations are not effective. When a person goes to the urologist, the evaluation starts with urine examination ultrasound and CT scan. Cystoscopy is a commonly done under local anesthesia. It is a short precdure. If it is done under general anesthesia patient will be in the hospital for 3 hours. The urologist can detect any problems of the urinary bladder prostate.
