Is it safe to use gram flour or rice powder for daily bathing? – Dr. Nischal K

Gram flour or rice powder has been traditionally used for cleansing the boy and the face for a long time. However with alerted climatic conditions and daily skin care regimes, it is not so relevant nowadays. Gram flour can be used for cleansing very oily skin, this cannot be used for cleansing a normal to dry skin because the Gram flour acts like an absorbent. When this acts on a normal to a dry skin, the dryness can be aggravated and this can be a starting point for severe eczema, rashes, itching, rashes and severe redness and inflammation in the skin. Hence this is not relevant for people with normal to dry skin. If people want to use it, they have to mix it with milk cream and curd but if people have tendency for acne, it can get aggravated as these are all oils or thick creams they can block the pores. So when you have lot of good soaps or cleansers, I don’t feel that moong dal or rice powder is still very relevant for cleansing the body or the private parts because the Gram flour or rice powder is actually a crushed granules of grains, they can be irritants and they can work like a scrub. So when you use it for sensitive areas like genial areas, then it can make the skin more prone for infection many at times and hence they are not advised for cleansing these sensitive areas.
