There are number of parts to this question, that is,if you have just delivered and you are probably feeding your child. For that you need extra nutrition. So it won’t be advisable to go on a strict diet just after delivery, whether it is caesarian or a normal delivery. It is not good for your child. You can be careful about the total amount of calories that are consumed. You can increase the proteins in your diet and reduce the carbohydrates in your diet. That can help in preventing the weight gain that happens after therapy. After caesarian section, the general advise is not to do strenuous exercise after 8 weeks to 2 -3 months after any operation in the abdomen because the scar or the wound given, it needs some time to gain strength. Otherwise the wound may become big and they may develop a hernia. Brisk walking for 45 minutes to 1 hour is a very safe and a very effective method of keeping your weight in check the bulge in your tummy that you see is because of the stretching of the muscles during pregnancy. So you have to give it some time and the tone will improve and the bulge will reduce.You might need to do abdominal strengthening exercises but it is advised to start only after 3 months after caesarian section.
