Negative results of 4th generation HIV & ELISA tests after few months – Dr. Ramakrishna Prasad

Assuming no further exposures; exposures meaning either unprotected sex or needle stick exposure or shaving needles with someone else then certainly if your combination test is negative after a period of 3 months after exposure you can safely assume that you are HIV negative. HIV 1, HIV 2 antibody test is negative after 6 months also you are safe to assume that you are HIV negative.
