We are a country that loves home remedies and something that has come from our grandmothers is the use of Multani Mitti / Fuller’s Earth for skin tightening. So Multani Mitti / Fuller’s Earth is advised to have lot of healing properties especially anti acne, anti oily properties and tightening of open pores, but let us look at what is happening with Multani Mitti. It is a dehydrating agent, it is alkaline agent, has agent appied on the skin when ti si used once in a fortnight or once in a month in the sin, it abiossestsns extra oil on skin. pH of the skin is acidic. So when you put something alkaline you are giving a challenge to skin. So it is ok to give a challenge once a month but not very often. Once Multani Mitti is dried the skin, you have to wash it off in scrubbing motion and this can cause ore dryness and pigmentation in sensitive and dark color. So if you use Multani Mitti, use it only once a month and as a thin layer and don’t use it on dark skin, sensitive skin, very dark and hyper pigmented skin or skin tends to get pigmented with rubbing don’t use it. Use it only once a month for oily skin, to exfoliate the skin but use only a thin layer. And wash it off with plenty of water without much rubbing motion.
