The overdose of any medicine is bad. It is not confined to sleeping pills. The research which brings out this medicines and tells us what dose to be used and how it is to be used. The overdose of sleeping pills can be the result of any psychosocial problems to any individual. The side effects of the sleeping pills, like Alprazolam, there can be first CNS manifestation. The medicines are supposed to be a sedative, hypnotic or anti-anxiety in many ways so we will use Alprazolam very commonly but nowadays it is a prescription based drug. So it is not available freely over the counter. If a person is having a certain number if pills for a certain diseases then there can be an overdose and it can lead to neurological manifestations and cardiological manifestations. There can be conduction disturbances in the heart. There can be excessive somnolence and the person cannot wake up from the sleep. There can be disturbance in the sensorium, can have memory problems and can have gastrointestinal side effects of this medicines.
