A feeling of discomfort in the area below the chest on the left side van be related to symptoms related with the organs present inside that area. He most common is gastritis. Stomach is in that particular area. Treatment is the management of that gastric issues, like medicines to reduce the acidity. Problems of the oesophagus, or the food pipe, which comes in the lower end of the chest on the left side. Even the lower lobe of the left lung, as in pleuritis, that can cause a sharp pain, it changes with respiration. Deep inspiration can cause pain when you have a lung related issue. The other issue where you can have this kind of pain is a cardiac issue, heart attack. You can have extreme anxiety, nervousness, perspiration and vomiting sensation with this kind of pain and the pain can radiate to the left arm. All problems are according to the case and dealt accordingly.
